Prepare for your journey

A complete guide to travelling with KITT CONNECT — from booking to arrival.

Before you book

A ferry journey feels easiest when you decide two things first: where you want to be at the end of the day, and whether you are travelling as foot passengers or with a vehicle. From there, pick the departure pier and sailing time that matches. The KITT CONNECT search panel on the home page shows every sailing currently open for booking on your route.

Weekend and high-season sailings fill first. If your date is flexible, a mid-week departure often has more availability and a calmer pier.

Passenger details when booking

Please add every traveller to the booking, including infants who travel free on lap. This lets our crew prepare the correct number of life jackets and reserve appropriate seating. Names should match the ID that the passenger will bring to the pier.

You can also add contact information for one lead traveller so our team can reach the group if a sailing needs to be adjusted.

Booking a vehicle

During booking, pick the vehicle category that matches your car, motorbike, or larger vehicle. Vehicle deck availability is shown per sailing, since not every sailing carries every category. If your vehicle is unusually tall, long, or heavy, please contact us before booking so we can confirm loading is possible on your sailing.

Passenger documents

Please bring a government-issued ID that matches the passenger record on the booking. Foreign travellers can use a passport; Thai nationals can use the national ID card. Minors travelling with a parent generally do not need to show ID at the pier, but our team may ask for confirmation in some cases.

Child and family travel

Infants below the eligible age travel free on lap. Children within the discounted band receive a reduced fare. Strollers can be folded and stored in the luggage area during the sailing. Child-sized life jackets are available onboard; the crew is happy to help fit them.

For families with young children, a mid-morning sailing usually feels most comfortable — it avoids the earliest departures and keeps the day open for the destination.

Check-in preparation

Arrive early enough to check in, load luggage, and — if you are travelling with a vehicle — queue for boarding. The recommended arrival window is shown on your booking confirmation and depends on the sailing and pier.

Have your booking reference and QR ticket ready as you approach the boarding gate.

Arriving at the pier

Every KITT CONNECT pier is signposted and staffed before each sailing. Look for the KITT CONNECT desk or gate for your route. Vehicles and foot passengers enter through separate lanes so both can be processed safely.

Vehicle preparation

Before loading, secure loose items inside the vehicle, close all windows, disable alarms that trigger on movement, and keep the fuel level within a safe range. Do not leave animals unattended in a parked vehicle onboard, and never keep flammable items in the boot. Rental cars may need explicit permission from the rental company to travel on a ferry — please check before booking.

Boarding process

Foot passengers usually board first, followed by vehicles, and then the ramp is raised. The boarding gate closes before departure so the crew can complete safety checks. Once the gate is closed, we cannot allow further passengers or vehicles onto the sailing.

Baggage guidance

Each passenger may bring one carry-on and one small personal item at no cost. Oversized bags, coolers, or sports equipment can be added at booking or paid for at the pier. Keep valuables and travel documents with you rather than in checked luggage.

Restricted and prohibited items

Flammable, explosive, and illegal items are not permitted onboard. Our crew reserves the right to refuse boarding when necessary for the safety of all travellers. If you are unsure whether an item is allowed, please ask before you arrive at the pier.

Accessibility and assistance

Most piers on our routes are step-free. If you need boarding assistance, priority seating, or wheelchair access, please tell us at booking or contact the team so our crew is ready when you arrive. We are happy to accommodate reasonable requests wherever the vessel and pier allow.

Weather and operational changes

Sailings run within a defined safety framework and can be adjusted when the sea state requires it. If a sailing is changed or cancelled, we notify booked passengers and offer either a free change to another sailing or a full refund. Please travel with a light backup plan when your itinerary is time-sensitive.

QR tickets and printed tickets

Digital QR tickets are the default format. Open the QR from your confirmation email or from the My Reservations screen and present it to our boarding staff. A printed copy is equally accepted, and A5 or A4 print formats can be provided for corporate and partner bookings.

Missing a sailing

If you miss your sailing, speak with our staff at the pier as soon as possible. Depending on the fare terms and remaining availability, they may be able to move you to a later sailing on the same day. Please do not travel to a different pier without confirming first.

Booking changes

Most bookings can be moved to another available sailing while the change window is still open under the fare terms. Sign in and open My Reservations to request a change, or contact us through the channels on the Contact page. Vehicle bookings depend on vehicle deck availability on the requested sailing.

Cancellations and refunds

Open My Reservations to review the cancellation options available for your booking. The options depend on the fare terms that applied when you booked. Once approved, refunds are returned via the original payment method; the timing depends on your bank.

Contacting customer support

Our team is available daily during business hours and at the pier whenever a sailing is scheduled. Visit the Contact page for phone, email, and messaging channels, or browse the FAQ for quick answers.

Where exact policy values (minute counts, weights, or refund percentages) apply to your sailing, they are printed on your booking confirmation. If you have any doubt, pleasecontact us before you travel.
